One of the most popular Xcaret owned parks is the namesake, Xcaret Park. This is an eco park, which means it is dedicated to conserving the natural area and sustainable practices.

Wanting to visit this park while in Mexico? Want to know if it is worth the time and money? Read on to find out about all the park has to offer, do not miss activities, and my favorite, the Xelfie spots.

There is the well known Espectacular show at night, the Papantla Flyers that swing from a pole 3 times a day, pre-Hispanic dances at 5:00, and a horse exhibition at 5:50. Make sure to plan ahead if you want to see any of these performances.

  • Dolphin Swim: Xcaret Park offers guests the opportunity to swim with dolphins. There are several different options from a dolphin encounter to riding a dolphin. Choose one for an unforgettable experience.
  • Nurse Shark Encounter: Learn about nurse sharks, feed them, and snorkel with them in this interactive experience. Nurse sharks are a gentle breed of shark that eat mollusks and other small marine life. This will be an experience to talk about when you return home.
  • Stingray Swim: This encounter allows you to swim with stingrays in 2 different encounters. There is a regular stingray encounter, and one geared towards children. This would be great for children who love marine life and learning about them.
  • Sea Trek Walk: Walk on the bottom of the sea wearing a Sea Trek helmet that allows you to breathe freely underwater. There are 2 different options to choose from when you can view marine life or stingrays. This allows for a unique experience that you can’t find just anywhere.
  • Adrenalina: Ride on a speedboat at speeds up to 55 miles an hour with 360 degree turns. Get soaked on this hair raising adventure ride.
  • Paraxute: Sail 300 feet up into the air on a parachute. See amazing views of the turquoise sea and jungle below.

Xelfie Picture Spots

Parque Xcaret offers many opportunities to take unique and fun pictures throughout the park. These spots allow you to scan your bracelet and take amazing pictures. These sports are located all over the park, so make sure to keep a lookout. These pictures are an extra cost, but well worth it in my opinion. Here are some of the best at Parque Xcaret.

  • Mexico Flag: When you first enter the park in the gift shop area, there is a Mexican flag made out of tiles. You can scan your bracelet and take a picture to remember your Mexican vacation.
  • Flamingos: After you enter the park there is a little area that has a small pond with flamingos and a Xcaret sign. This is a super cute area to take a picture at the Xelfie spot.
  • Macaws: Make sure and take a picture with these beautiful birds after entering the park. You can find them sitting on branches where you can stand with them and have your picture snapped.
  • Colorful Wings: A favorite for everyone at the park, these colorful wings are a fun and unique picture to remember your vacation. Stand in front and raise your arms to pretend you are spreading your wings.
  • Rivers: Keep a lookout for the Xelfie spots as you float down the rivers. These offer some opportunities to take pictures with a beautiful natural background.
  • Xcaret Sign at the End of the River: This beautiful Xcaret sign offers several opportunities for Xelfies as the river comes to an end. It is very popular so be prepared for a line for this Xelfie opportunity.
  • Turtle Shell: Inside the turtle sanctuary there is a replica turtle shell that you can climb into. Get a feel for what it is like to be a turtle with this fun Xelfie.
  • More: There are many more opportunities for Xelfies throughout the park so keep your eyes open for the scan spot as you explore.

    Xcaret Park has maps along the paths so that you can always see where you are and where you are going. They also have colored tiles in the paths to mark what path you are on to help you get to your destination without getting lost.
